The Educator of the Year Award honors Middle/Jr. High and High School teachers who set the standard for Holocaust education—helping students grasp history, confront intolerance, and think critically. Eligibility & Criteria

Open to Middle/Jr. High and High School Holocaust educators in local area school districts.

We’re looking for educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching the Holocaust and show a clear, measurable impact on students’ understanding—especially of the real-world consequences of racism, ethnic cleansing, and intolerance.

Timeline & Recognition
  • June 6, 2025: Submissions due
  • Early September 2025: Awardees notified by mail
  • By September 15, 2025: Winners posted on HAMEC’s website
  • December 6, 2025: Honorees (plus a guest) recognized at the HAMEC Gala Awards Dinner
